CADCAM dentistry produces long lasting, natural looking, non-metal restorations.
Lawrence & Pinkerton was one of the first practices in the country to invest in a CEREC (CEramic REConstruction) CADCAM machine back in 1999.

Over the years we have regularly updated this technique and now offer PLANMECA CADCAM restorations.
This computer based treatment allows us to complete your restoration work in one visit (usually less than 90 minutes). Whether you need a filling or a more complex crown the CADCAM technique produces long lasting, natural looking, non-metal crowns and restorations that can be made in only one visit.
For you that means:
-
LESS drilling
-
NO impressions
-
NO temporary fillings
-
NO WAITING to have the restoration fitted
In one visit:
-
your tooth is prepared
-
a digital image of the tooth is taken
-
a ceramic block is milled while you wait
-
your restoration is fitted
For more details on CADCAM please contact us.
At Lawrence & Pinkerton we offer Opalescence home whitening
Teeth whitening is an increasingly popular way to whiten your teeth without removing any of the tooth surface. At Lawrence & Pinkerton we offer Opalescence home whitening.
The process is simple. You will need to come to the practice to have some impressions taken of your teeth. The impressions will then be sent to a laboratory who will make your whitening trays. Once these have been made you will come into the practice for a short visit and shown how to use the trays and the whitening gels.
The whitening trays are usually worn with the gel every night for one to two weeks or until the desired whiteness is achieved.
If, after a few years, you would like to whiten your teeth again there is no need to have the trays made again, all you need is the whitening gels.
If you would like any further information on Teeth Whitening please contact the practice.

Dental implants can be used to replace one or more missing teeth

What are dental implants?
An implant is a titanium screw that is surgically placed in the jawbone. The post will act like the ‘normal’ root of a tooth.
What can they be used for?
Dental implants can be used to replace one or more missing teeth either by fixing a crown or bridge to them. They can also be used for implant-retained dentures
Implant-retained dentures
If you find normal dentures difficult to wear, implant-retained dentures may be the answer. These are dentures that are stabilised by implants to stop the movement that you may experience with the ‘traditional’ type of dentures.
Implant-retained dentures work by having implants placed in the jaw bone and then these will be attached to the denture to hold it in place.
